As we celebrate 9 years of Soft Paris, we interviewed Annelotte Desruelle and Luca Armenia, co-founders of Europe’s no.1 direct selling lingerie, cosmetics, toys and accessories company, to discuss the highlights so far as Soft Paris enters its 10th year.

The Birth of Soft Paris

What were the key events that led to the creation of Soft Paris? Annelolotte : At the time I remember that it was quite difficult to find intimate toys in France and my friends were often asking me to bring them back Rabbits from London! In late 2005 I began conducting market research and found that there was a huge deficit of understanding regarding women’s bodies and their pleasure, it was very difficult to find quality products. So I hosted my first home party in January 2006 and that was the birth of the Soft Paris concept! In March 2006 I registered the company, started the ‘Annelolotte & her sextoys’ blog on the 15th of August that year, with the first Soft Paris Advisors joining me in September 2006. Luca : I joined Annelolotte in May 2006, I found the whole concept of sextoy homesales fun and avant-garde. The first few months were really intensive, with Annelolotte doing all the parties and the blog while I was occupied with all of the creative, there were quite a lot of all nighters! We had our first Soft Paris photoshoot at the end of August 2006 and the softparis.com website launched on the 15th of December that year.

Soft Paris has come a long way since 2006 and 2015 marks the company’s ninth year

What’s been the best part so far? Annelolotte : The human contact - getting to meet all the Soft Paris Advisors and their clients. Luca : The joy and excitement when we received our first ever Soft Paris order, we danced around the office singing “We have an order, we have an order”. What’s been the funniest moment? Luca: When we did a photoshoot with a feather boa and our cat ‘Tiger’ was very, very interested and intrigued by what he thought was a serpent. Your biggest lesson learned? Annelolotte: Everything takes time to build and to implement - usually longer than we used to expect. So keep working and keep your goal in mind, because the extra work always pays off! Luca: Make your own luck by working as hard as you can. What’s the key to success (or to happiness)? Annelolotte: The quality of advice given by our advisors as well as the product quality and price, whether its sextoys, lingerie or cosmetics. Soft Paris offers a completely free service : to inspire and assist clients in their intimate life. Our products are great, so people buy them, but our real goal is to contribute to the wellbeing of our clients. Luca: Be passionate and never let the bad days get you down.

2016, the BIG 10 years

What’s your greatest wish for the 10th anniversary? Annelolotte et Luca: To continue to strengthen our leading position in the market for sextoy, lingerie and cosmetic home sales in France and to continue expanding in the UK and Italy. Can you share any of your new projects for 2016? Annelolotte et Luca:We’re constantly developing new products for lingerie, sextoys and cosmetics, so in 2016 we’re planning on expanding all three ranges. We’re especially growing our lingerie collection with short, trendy lines which we’re very excited about.

A message for the Soft Paris advisors

Soft Paris wouldn’t exist today, if it were not for the strength of its network of advisors. What message would you give them? Annelolotte et Luca : We’re great admirers of the work done by our advisors. Annelolotte having been an advisor herself knows that it can be hard and sometimes lonely work, where personal motivation is fundamental. Attitudes have changed a lot for the better in France over the last 10 years and we’re convinced that all of our advisors have contributed and played a part in it, so a huge thank you to all our advisors!
